A Refutation of the Doctrine of Absolute Predestination of All Things
“FOR OF A TRUTH against thy holy child Jesus both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles and the people of Israel, were gathered together for to do whatsoever thy hand and thy counsel determined before to be done.” [Acts 4:27, 28.] That the crucifixion of Christ was predetermined, and that the characters spoken of were gathered together for that purpose, certainly is not denied. Upon that event was hinged God’s purpose in the salvation of all his people. But it should be noted that it was the crucifixion of Christ there declared to be predetermined, and not the wickedness of those that crucified him. |
