Chapter VIII - The Signs of Alliance with Babylon

The old Baptists, with little exception, have been and are yet quite busied in traffic with Babylon's merchants, some of which have met them (the old Baptists) on the near shore that borders on the line of Zion.

Thus, as marked and plainly shown as recorded in the old baptist map and chart given by Zion's King, and by her to be strictly observed as the true and only line beyond which the citizens of Zion should not pass to buy or traffic in the wares, by her garments or trinkets being offered for sale by her merchants that have become so desirable, so comely to look upon, that the sons and daughters of our once beloved and happy Zion are willing and anxious to lay aside their garments that become women and also men professing godliness, and be attired in the garments of a new cut, such as judged fit, and patented by the woman that was arrayed in purple and scarlet color, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication, and upon her forehead was a name written: mystery-"Babylon the Great, the Mother of Harlots and Abominations of the Earth." And Zion's merchants or ministers mingling and commingling with those, the merchants of Babylon, have drinked in of the Spirit, or perfume always present, and adhering to her wares and merchandise, so that all that handle or wear the garments or trinkets become intoxicated, and even those that took on them partake of the same intoxicating influence, and directly wish themselves arrayed in alike apparel or trinkets.

And dear reader, we should bear in mind that this woman which John saw while on the Isle of Patmos (see 13th and 17th chapters of Revelations-"A woman sit upon a scarlet colored beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns", she that is mystery, Babylon the great and mother of harlots and abominations of the earth, did not only patent, or grant exclusive right to all her daughters and numerous offspring, through all days, to wear the garments and trinkets of gold and silver-the wares only as manufactured by Her Majesty's skilled workmen, who have "received a mark in their hands, or in their foreheads," and, for her merchants or salesmen to be fully authorized to buy or sell, they must have the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name, without which mark, no man might buy or sell. And that we all should remember a like exclusive privilege is secured to all, Her Majesty's adopted daughters, under a like reception of the mark of the beast in the right hand or forehead, or the number of his name. "Here is wisdom; let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man, and his number is six hundred three score and six.
